Trap music developed during the period of the 90s to 2000s, typically in the south of the US. It is usually recognised by the beat involving hi-hats, bass drum and synthesisers. Lyrically, themes involve typical violence, club life, drug culture and street life.
Gangsta rap evolved during the mid-80s from hardcore rap, mainly defined by the lyrical content about gangsta lifestyle usually based on crime and violence.
Classic hip-hop originates from the 80s, pushing through the 90s and early 2000s. The flow is normally more simple and often has a slower tempo.
